Naval School of Music at Eastney Barracks, Portsmouth in 1903
& its subsequent amalgamation with the Divisional Bands
to form the present day Royal Marines Band Service in 1950.
Bands in various forms had served at sea before this time,
but this profusely illustrated book tells the fascinating
story of its development over the past 100 years into today's
Service, arguably the finest in the world, which is responsible
for providing music for the Royal Navy.
The Royal Marines Historical Society, supported
by the Royal Marines Band Service, present this special publication
to commemorate the centenary in 2003.
