 Musn Spain was brought up in Cumbria in a small village called Lakeside. He has always had an interest in music, which he carried on at his secondary school, Ulverstone Victoria High. As well as music, he is also interested in outdoor sports such as climbing, walking and running (all useful in the Lake District!).
He first heard the Royal Marines Band Service when his school did a joint concert with the Dartmouth Band, which is when he first started to think about the Royal Marines Band Service as a future career in music. He decided to apply for an audition the next year after being lucky enough to get work experience with the Scotland Band and partake in a concert with them in the Carnegie Hall, Dunfermline.
“After my auditions, I was privileged to be accepted into the Royal Marines Band Service and I am now based in HMS Nelson, Portsmouth, carrying out my basic training".
