Salmon_JMusn Jonathan Peter Kenneth Salmon, of New Entry Troop 1/07, is officially the person in the Troop with the longest name. Born in Sussex in May 1989 and, having moved around in his younger years, he has been living in Mid Devon in a little village in the middle of nowhere for the past 10 years.

After playing the cornet and baritone at Primary School, he finally settled onto the trombone, which he has been playing for the last 8 years. He started Phase 1 Training for the Royal Marines Band Service after completing two years of A levels at Exeter College. In his second year he studied Music, Music Technology and ICT A levels, where he got all Grade Bs and a Fast-Track National Award in Music Performance where he achieved a Distinction. At Christmas last year he received a Distinction in his Grade 8 on trombone. He played in a number of varied ensembles, both at county level and at college. These included wind band, brass band, orchestra and jazz.

As well as a lot of music, I enjoy being outside, including walking, and recently I have started to do some climbing. Both my parents are remarried and I have a multitude of siblings including a brother, a step-brother, three step-sisters and a half-sister.
