He continued his musical studies along with his other studies at college, achieving three A levels in music, biology and law. During these further studies he worked weekends in Tesco until passing his audition and beginning his training at the Royal Marines School of Music.

Musn Hemmings grew up in Yeovil, Somerset, to non-musical parents, who encouraged him, his brother and two sisters to play musical instruments. The siblings then went on to play together in local youth bands. Musn Hemmings began to take music more seriously as he entered his GCSE years, where he gained eight other GCSEs.
