Musn Hall 24th February - 2nd March 2003

Tuesday
After a long weekend it was back to work to rehearse with the Hampshire Constabulary Band for a joint concert on Saturday evening. We all had to attend the bar afterwards for some socialising with the Constabulary Band.

Wednesday

Started with Parade Band in the Gym due to the bad weather and not having a parade ground whilst a new concert hall is being built. We didn't get off to a very good start as 75% of the lads were picked up for their hair being too long. It was then off to the School for a morning's practice before heading back to the gym for an afternoon of RT. For RT today we played Volleyball and Hockey.

Thursday

We started today with a circuit. It was then back to the school for a day's practice. Thursday's are one of my busiest days as I have both my violin and saxophone lessons. I am currently studying Ronald Binge's concerto for alto saxophone and O Reiding's concerto in B minor on my violin. We were treated today with the evening off, as there was no Concert Band.

Friday

Had Parade Band in the gym which got off to a better start as no one was picked up in the inspection. We then had a day of normal instruction. For the last hour today we had a Concert Band rehearsal ready for tomorrow's concert.

Saturday

We had a rehearsal in the afternoon with the Hampshire Constabulary Band and then the concert in the evening. The highlight of the concert must have been one of the Constabulary Band tuba players dressing up as a Tiger for his solo in 'Tuba Tiger Rag'.

Sunday

Well earned day off after a very long day yesterday.
