Musician Hall 22 - 27 April 2002

Monday
Monday started with a run to Southsea to burn off all those takeaways from the weekend. CSgt Curry had been promised that the tide would be in, and guess what? He was right and so we all ended up in the sea for an early morning dip before running back to HMS Nelson. Soon after, we were off to the School for some instrumental practise, although the females of the troop had some time out to have their lovat trousers fitted. I must say, most fitted round the waist, but everyone must think we females are going to become quite a bit larger in other places! The evening saw everyone cleaning for rounds the following morning.

Tuesday
Tuesday was an early start making sure everything was clean and tidy for rounds, and then it was off to the School for private practice. Tuesdays are always busy for me as I have lessons with my flute and sax professors and we also have elements and aural lessons. This particular aural lesson involved us playing our instruments and the person next to us copying down what we played. All I can say to Bug Lowe is "Sorry, I forgot you can only play 6 notes!" Later, we had evening rehearsals for a concert coming up later in the week but I spent the time doing some private practice. It was then off to the bar for some socialising.

Wednesday
Wednesday started with Parade Band where we were to play a new march, to us anyway, Kenneth Alford's 'The Thin Red Line'. I had a slight problem thoughas half of the bottom line of the music was missing from my part. The rest of the morning was spent in private practice. We then went to Southsea for RT and played rounders. As it was a nice afternoon, a few of us then went for a swim in the sea. After our swim, Musn Dawkins, Bug Ford and myself decided to have a game of tennis. The evening saw a lot of us nursing our sun burn!

Thursday
Thursday started with circuit training and then it was off to the School for practice. There were only a few of us left in the afternoon, as most people were rehearsing for a gig that evening, but later on we all met up in the bar for some more socialising.

Friday
Friday started with Parade Band again but due to the rain we rehearsed sitting down in the Concert Hall. The afternoon was spent rehearsing for another gig the following night and, as the concert on Thursday had gone well, we were allowed to rehearse in civvies.

Weekend
Saturday saw a few people working in the morning with the rest of us starting in the afternoon. With a late finish to the day, we all went for a quick drink and then set off back for an early(ish) night.
Sunday was spent sorting out our personal admin in preparation for the week ahead.
