Monday
This was going to be the start of a long and stressful week. EXAM WEEK!
All the Term 8 M3 students and B3 boy (Johno) Bug Johnson were all preparing
for their recitals. In 'true bugler style' we were giving them a load of hassle,
but we classed it as moral support.
Us Term 2 Buglers and Term 5 Bugler Vyse, were all preparing for the end of
term assessments, which were taking place on Wednesday of this week. Monday
evening was taken up by the strenuous task of rounds.

Tuesday
B3 Bugler 'Johno' was still flapping around like a chicken, wondering if he
had passed or not. The rest of us just stood by and laughed. We shouldn't really
because a year down the line and it'll be us.
Tuesday evening saw us doing our repertoire assessment. We had a series of about
20 marches and 10 were to be picked out and performed with no mistakes, or it
was a straight fail. Well done to everyone, nobody failed.
Wednesday
Today was supposed to start with Parade Band but due to the glorious Portsmouth
weather, it was cancelled. An Open Day rehearsal went ahead instead, with all
of us gathered in the concert hall running through Olympic Spirit and Gaelforce.
As soon as rehearsal had finished it was straight into our assessments. Bugle
first then drum. It was good to see that none of us came out with puzzled faces,
well Bug Keeping always looks puzzled. Drumming went just as well. RT was a
game of unitac in the gym, time to get some aggression out. You'd know what
I mean if you saw Bug Keeping's leg. Nice tattoo!
Thursday
Thursday morning PT, often a run along Southsea Common, quite nice this morning.
I got to sunbathe for most of it, due to Musn Linden being injured half way
round and we had to stop and wait for a vehicle. Cheers mate! Cracking sun tan!
Back at the School the Buglers were called into the Bugle Majors Office
to get our results of the assessment. We all came out with a pass, I was a bit
disappointed with my result but never mind, everyone has bad days. Well done
to B3 Bug 'Johno' who gained a Superior Pass. The work should start here now.
Good luck in Scotland mate, you'll be missed! only joking!
Thursday evening saw most of Training Company in Weatherspoons, it having been
an eventful exam week.
I don't think many people can ever remember taking exams after that night. Need
I say where we ended up. No, I think you've guessed it
Abduls!
Friday
Today, nearly all of Training Company were off to Derby for a weekend Concert
Tour. I wasn't selected to go on this gig so I decided to travel home to Chorley
in Lancashire to see the family. Besides would you like a 6 hour coach journey
on a hangover
me neither.
I'll leave you in suspense as to what happens in Derby
Bugler Mace will reveal all next time, just keep watching this space
