Week 12 Musician Burton 12 November - 18 November 2001

Monday

We started the week with Table 2 Passout. during a long hour of pure physically related stress, we passed Table 2 (Just). We all thought 'Thank God. No more IMF". A session of Drill followed which was used to practice our Drill Display. Finally to finish the day we relaxed with a period of Chaplaincy.

Tuesday

This day looked like Hell on the programme, but was quite enjoyable. We started with more practice towards our Drill Display. Then moved on to the Royal Marines Fitness Assessment 1, which consisted of pressups, situps, burpees, 300m sprint and the 1.5 mile run. After lunch, we moved to the Longmoor Training Camp to proceed with a static stance of map reading and finally finished off with a Night Navigation Exercise. One highlight of this week was to see Musn Butchers' have a nice stroll around the training area for 2½ hours, when asked what happened, she claimed she was 'geographically embarrassed'!!

Wednesday

We started off with a room and locker inspection by Sargeant Henderson. Then quickly moved on to the gym, where we were given an introduction to the PT Passout Display. After that, we carried out a Signals Test and a Military Knowledge Test and then finished off with practice to our drill display.

Thursday

We set off to the gym to start work for the PT Passout Display. However Sargeant Griffin wasn't pleased with the choice of music made by the Troop. Sounds like he's from a different era from us!! Again it followed with a relaxing period with the Chaplain. We then had to sit another test on the Map Reading with Sargeant Higgins, followed by even more practice towards the magnificent display from the Drill Instructor Sargeant Henderson.

Friday

Today was a practical Revision exercise for the Test Exercise Baptist Run. We practised observation skills, map reading static stance, target indication, camouflage and concealment, and fire and manoeuvre exercise up a football field.
