Monday began with a slightly different routine for the senior term, as we no longer have to attend PT after passing our M3 exams. The remainder of Training Company were at PT with CSgt Lawton on Southsea Common. It was then a day's practise for everyone in the school. This gave the senior term a bit of time to begin our leaving routine. We also got the breakdown of our exam results today. Everyone was generally pleased with the mark they achieved; the afternoon was a rehearsal for Open Day with orchestra. We played through many different selections of music, as the music for Open Day had not been picked.
Tuesday was an early start as we had a Parade Band rehearsal at HMS Excellent
for Open Day, this didn't go particularly well as a few people had forgotten
what places to move to. We were then off back to the School for a morning of
practise. The afternoon saw us travelling to Alton for a concert.
Wednesday was also an early start as we had Parade Band again today. After Parade
Band a group of 20 went down to Exeter Quays for the RM Dragon Boat Championships.
We had very little experience in our teams but still managed to win the plate
final. Well done to everyone. The remainder were in work practising in the morning
and at RT in the afternoon.
Thursday began with sponsored prayers for most people, PT for terms 5 and 6
and the Senior term had to be in work for 0830. The afternoon began with Big
Band taken by Mr Lusher where we were practising our pieces for Open Day. We
then had an orchestral rehearsal where the Bandmaster selected the pieces, which
we are going to play on Open Day.
Friday started with Parade Band rehearsing for Open Day. We were then in our
cells practising. This was again an opportunity for the Senior Term to continue
their leaving routine. The afternoon was again an orchestral rehearsal.
