Musician Grey 12 - 16 July 2004

Monday

This morning was an early start with PT at 0730 on Southsea Common. Once over at the School of Music it was straight into practising for my M3 exam coming up later on this week. After lunch I had my last string bass prof lesson before my exam on Wednesday, the lesson was just like a mock exam to make sure I definitely knew everything before Wednesday. Later on in the afternoon there was a rehearsal for the Fanfare Team, which I was involved in, because there is a gig in Bournemouth next week.

Tuesday

The day before my exam I was doing some last minute practise making sure I knew all of my scales and my piece was as good as it could be. After lunch there was a tuba quartet rehearsal in which we rehearsed the music we are going to play in our recital in a few weeks. It got to 1600 and there was a Concert Band rehearsal for Open Day, which is on the 5 August and everyone is looking forward to.

Wednesday

I woke up this morning feeling a little bit nervous about my exam today but after a good morning's practise I was feeling more confident. It got to 1400 and I was in next to take my exam. I went in and the exam went well and now I will have to wait till Friday to find out the results. Later on that evening we had a Parade Band gig at Second Sea Lords house.

Thursday

This morning started with PT, which was a swimming session at HMS Temeraire. Today I was practising for my Tuba and Bass Guitar exams tomorrow. After lunch I had a bass guitar prof lesson, which again was just like a mock exam to check everything was right. At 1600 there was a rehearsal for Open Day and again that night we had a Parade Band gig for the Second Sea Lord.

Friday

This morning I was first in to take my exam at 0830 on Tuba, after that I had a couple of hours before I had my Bass Guitar exam. Both of these exams went well and now it was a nervous wait to find out our results later that afternoon. While we were waiting we were doing our rig for another Parade Band gig at the 2nd Sea Lords house. It got to 1500 and all the people who took M3 exams were all waiting around nervously for their results. We all found out our results and everyone passed everything first time. So now everyone was looking forward to spending the weekend celebrating.
