Musician Gray 10 - 14 May 2004

Monday

Today we had the day off, due to travelling back from Italy after our week of Adventure Training, which was wet, windy and snowy, but was still fun.

Tuesday

Back to work! It was a shock to the system at first, but soon got back into it after playing a few scales. It was good to hear later on in the morning that the tuba professor was coming in to give me an extra lesson after a week off.

Normally on Tuesday evening we would have Concert Band rehearsal, but due to the other half of Training Company being in Italy it was cancelled.

Wednesday

Today we had lie in and didn't have to be at work till 0815, thanks to the rest of Training Company, who were, yes, you've guessed it, still having fun in Italy, but that's ok because I'm practising hard for my M3 exams which start in a couple of weeks. The day ended with a tuba quartet rehearsal, where we started looking at music for a recital we have coming up at the end July.

Thursday

Normally on Thursday morning we have a phys session, but due to the PTI's being in Italy phys was cancelled. So first thing this morning I had a bass guitar lesson in which I did a complete run through of my M3 recital pieces, I was then given a full scales test by the professor.

During the lunch hour we had a choir rehearsal, where we sang the Bohemian Rhapsody by the artist formally known as Prince.

Friday

By half past nine I was in my cell having a string bass professors lesson, which was good because after a week off I needed a lesson to catch up on what I had missed. There was choir again at 1230 in preparation for the concert coming up next Thursday evening with the HMS Nelson Volunteer Band. The afternoon soon passed with a string sectional held in the concert hall. After this we were free for the weekend.
