I am Bugler Keeping and I have been studying at the School of Music for two years. I am taking my final exams next week and will be passing out to Plymouth Band very shortly.
Monday
Today was not a very eventful day!
The week started off with phys, as every week does and today saw a lovely run
down to Southsea beach. We do love the cold awakening fact that it's not the
weekend any more!
The rest of the day saw a normal daily routine at the School consisting of PRACTISE!
This afternoon was recitals, which I'd like to say went very well. Myself and
Bugler Ford were supposed to do a recital today but unfortunately, Ford came
down with a bug so we were unable to do it, what a shame!
Tuesday
Today started with rounds, which thankfully we all passed. It was then onto
normal Instruction followed by evening rehearsal for Denmead concert next Thursday,
the buglers are only giving a short contribution; Sunset right at the end!
Wednesday
Parade Band started today. We are rehearsing for the New Entries' pass out on
the 12 December. I can't believe they're passing out already. My basic training
felt like a life time, they've only done a week haven't they? This afternoon's
RT was rounders down at Southsea Common, which I think everybody really enjoyed.
Thursday
Today was phys again, but this time with a difference. We had a Navy PTI taking
us which wasn't too bad because he went quite easy on us. The rest of the day
was normal instruction and then evening rehearsal for the Denmead concert. Still
a bit of work for that I think.
Friday
Everyone cheers up on a Friday as it's nearly the weekend again. Parade Band
this morning and normal private practice in the afternoon. I think a lot of
people will be in working over the weekend as there are a lot of exams next
week, myself included.
