Musn Dolby 25 Feb - 1 March 2003

Tuesday 25 February

After having a relaxing long weekend, the School of Music Band, and Police Band faced a two hour rehearsal, over at the Portsmouth band room, for a concert at the Guildhall on Saturday.
Personally I didn't get off to a great start as I turned up late for the rehearsal. Anyway the time passed fairly quickly.

Wednesday 26 February

The best day of the week, why? In the afternoon we have Recreational Training. Every Wednesday me and my good friend Musn Sol Fenne go rock-climbing at Fort Purbrook. What a life. All you people thinking of joining, this is probably one of the best jobs around.

Thursday 27 February

Early start with the PTIs for a hard workout in the gym, just the thing everyone needs to wake us all up. Now wide awake we face the rest of the day which brings a prof lesson and a physio appointment which went really well. After tea we had an evening rehearsal for Concert Band.

Friday 28 February

Parade Band starts off the day. It was really, really cold, and we all couldn't wait to get into the warm. Drum Major was happy with our efforts, which makes it all worth while. The rest of the day was pretty normal and everyone looked forward to the weekend.

Saturday 1 March

The big day arrived for our joint concert with the Police Band. We had to be at the Guildhall in Portsmouth for 0900 to set up the stage and rehearsals started at 1030. Everything went well so we had a few hours off in the afternoon to relax and have tea before the concert started at 1930. It went very well, I thought the playing was superb.
