Musn Clark 17 - 23 Feb 2003

Monday

It was back to work with a bump today after spending the previous week in the Albert Hall playing for MFM. I am studying for a music degree through the Band Service for which I had a history lesson today. That evening it was back to rounds as normal.

Tuesday

Both my professors were in today (I play flute and saxophone). As usual it was hard fitting us all in around the other things that we do. I had a harmony lesson today. This goes with the history from yesterday to give us the background needed for the rest of the course which is by distance learning after the first year. The evening was spent rehearsing concert band ready for a gig with the Hampshire Constabulary Police Band.

Wednesday

Today began with Parade Band. There was a very thorough inspection this morning which involved many of the lads being picked up for their hair not being right. After stand easy we had a jazz class. This is led every week by Cpl Williams. It caters for those who have never done much improvisation but is attended by a wide range of abilities. The afternoon was spent doing RT. We often get to choose what we want to do. Each week Musn Thompson and I go swimming.

Thursday

As usual today started with PT and after stand easy we had a big band with Mr Lusher. We rehearsed concert band again this evening.

Friday

Morale was high as we were all due to go on long weekend today. First of all we had to pass another inspection in Parade Band. After this we cleaned the school and received our leave passes before securing.
