Monday

Well, today is the start of one hectic week, if I'd have known what the week had in store for us all, to be honest I don't think I would even have got out of bed.
Today was quite a placid day, kicking off with a rehearsal for OC's Parade which was to take place on Wednesday. The rehearsal didn't go as well as expected, setting off a few hard feelings in the hierarchy of the school of music, which I doubt helped very much towards the events which were waiting just around the corner.
For the rest of the day I had my work cut out for me as long weekend at the end of the week meant assessments on both instruments which in itself equals a lot of work.

Tuesday

Today was the day that training company set off down that long slippery slope to misery, from which there is little escape.
The morning again started with a rehearsal for OC's Parade, which in my opinion went quite well however the PDM's opinion was quite different.
Straight after the parade Drum Major announced that for unseen circumstances our lockers were to be opened for inspection. At this point most people's hearts had jumped into their throats, and just about everyone in the wing was willing the ground to open up and swallow them.
To no surprise whatsoever, Drum Major was, let's say, quite disturbed by the state of our lockers. Consequently rounds has to be done every night for the foreseeable future and the threat of long weekend's gone down the pan!
Its times like these, that the military side of the job really takes over and as Drum Major said
'Your miserable lives become even more miserable.'
It's also times like these that you need a sense of humour.

Wednesday

Today was the day of assessments, many harsh words and an afternoon to get shot at.
The morning was spent, for me, doing my assessments, a time to concentrate on the side of the job that matters to me the most and the part of the job I take the most seriously.
On the whole my assessments went well and I managed to show how much work I put in.
Therefore apart from the hard feelings flying around I felt quite happy in myself, a successful morning in all.
The afternoon was a fun packed RT session and off to the woods we went to go paint balling. A good time was had by all.

Thursday

The buglers and a jazz trio were on their way to Cyprus to soak up the sun, while doing Mess Beatings and play a bit of jazz. What a great way to spend long weekend, for the rest of us it was rounds as usual and then a normal day.
After the day's work we all went off to our different parts of the country to spend a much appreciated, long weekend.
