Musn Lawson 24 November - 1 December 2002

I am Musn Lawson and I am currently studying the flute and saxophone, I have been at the School of Music just over two years now so not long to go until I pass out into the Band Service!

Monday

The week started off with phys, as every week does. Today saw a lovely run down to Southsea beach. We do love the cold awakening to the fact that it's not the weekend any more!
The rest of the day saw a normal daily routine at the school, consisting of practise.
This afternoon were recitals, which I must say went very well, where we were treated to one of our buglers performing a recital. Bugler Vyse was preparing for his forthcoming B3 exam, a week to day. I must say he did exceptionally well and we all wish him luck for his exams next week.

Tuesday

Today started with Rounds, which thankfully we all passed.
It was then onto normal Instruction followed by evening rehearsal for our Christmas Concert on 12th December at St Mary's church.

Wednesday

The day started with Parade Band. We are rehearsing for the New Entries Pass Out which is a week on Friday. I can't believe they're passing out already! My Basic Training felt like a lifetime, they've only done a week haven't they?
This afternoon's RT was volleyball, which I think everybody really enjoyed.

Thursday

Today was phys again, but this time with a difference. Musn Walker (the Wing Captain) took a circuit that he had planned the night before. Everybody was very glad he's not as harsh as the PTIs.
The rest of the day was normal instruction and then an evening rehearsal where we are currently working on the music for our Christmas Concert… still a bit of work for that I think.

Friday

Everyone cheers up on a Friday as it's nearly the weekend again. Parade Band this morning and orchestra this afternoon.
I think a lot of people will be in working over the weekend as there are a lot of exams next week. Good luck!
