Musician Harwood 15 - 21 April 2002

Monday

Monday morning began in the usual way with PT. We ran the BFT and most of us passed it. The rest of the day was mostly personal practice with recitals after lunch. Well done to Musn Debbie Thompson who gave a great performance during her first recital. Rounds were cancelled tonight due to a 'bad taste' party in the RMSM bar. The costumes were interesting, to say the least, with some people having very little difficulty in getting an outfit together… enough said! (Will Hairsine wore a counterpane blanket whilst Danny Sutton wore a lovat skirt and he didn't borrow it from any of the girls!)

Tuesday

Tuesday morning was quiet! There were quite a few 'baggy heads' at the School of Music and most people played as quietly as possible! I had a piano assessment, with my instructor, which went quite well. In the afternoon I had an elements lesson and then another rehearsal later in the evening.

Wednesday

The morning began with Prade Band in the sunshine! After Parade Band our new bandmaster, Mr Martin, gave us a Jazz lesson on the 12 bar blues. It was really interesting and everyone played a solo! There was an orchestral rehearsal in the afternoon and those of us not needed for it played basketball. I spent the rest of the evening painting the hall stairs and landing of my new house!

Thursday

The morning began with Sponsored prayers in the concert Hall. This went without a hitch, although the orchestra was bigger than the congregation! The rest of the day was spent in personal practice with an evening rehearsal.

Friday

Friday at last! Personal practice for me all day but there was an orchestra rehearsal in the afternoon. At last 1620 arrived and Training Company breathed its usual sigh of relief that another week had gone smoothly.
