Musician Carter 11 May - 18 May 2001

Another week has arrived! Kicked off with a delightful PT session… circuits… well, that's enough said on that subject.
Nine o'clock Monday morning: my face burning red from Sergeant Griffins early morning 'fun and games', my head tender from the previous weekends activities. It was time to knuckle down to some practice and what better way than a morning of quintet rehearsals. Stand easy soon arrived and I was ready to go, fully charged and ready for the week ahead, and what a busy week it turned out to be.
Tuesday was a regular day; in our cells going over and over those tricky passages and playing scales until they are were out of our ears.
Wednesday on the other hand was quite the opposite. We were joining with London College of Music to perform a combined concert, and as the concert was to be next day we had a lot of rehearsing to do. The day was packed with rehearsals as well as getting to know the new faces around the School of Music. It was certainly non-stop.
Thursday arrived and it was off to the Portsmouth Guildhall, we had the last few rehearsals with everyone hyped up and ready to go. The evening soon came and the performance was enjoyed by all with 'Little Red Riding Hood', one of the more unusual pieces, amusing most of the audience and the band.
Friday, the weekend has arrived again! Where do the weeks go?
