Musician Harwood 7 July - 13 July

Well, it's been a mixed up week really. The Italy Band returned on the 7th, not that many of the term two's were here to welcome them back as we had all taken advantage of the Saturday morning off work and gone home!
Monday saw most of Italy Band in bed having been given a stand off and the rest of us went happily off to work. During the morning two small groups from schools arrived for a day's work experience. In the afternoon, we rigged up a scratch concert band (all the people who didn't go to Italy) so they could see what sort of music we play. In the evening this week's audition candidates had their first taste of PT. They didn't have the energy to talk about it afterwards!
Tuesday was another quiet day. Italy Band were stood down and the work experience people had gone home. We were given evening instruction off and told to be fell in at 08.15 Wednesday morning.
0845 and the School was back to normal. Italy Band were back in work and the School was filled with music again. After lunch, the training team asked us to help them clean out their stores and put up some tents. We began this task and the rain came pouring down. Typical! We soon finished and a very wet Training Company went off for an afternoon of hockey in the gym.
Thursday was quite average as well. We had prayers this week and the strings group played Arrival of the Queen of Sheba fantastically. Thanks to Sgt Boland who conducted them. The band are off to Derby tomorrow for a three day tour. Being on the security team, I leave at 07.45 in the morning whilst the band leave at 0900. Good luck band.
Congratulations to all those who passed grade exams this term. A special congratulations to Musn S J Richardson (or Clive!) who received his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award on the 2 July at Hollyrood Palace in Edinburgh. He was lucky enough to meet our Captain General HRH The Prince Phillip and he said he had a great time. He also asked me to remind the members of Troop 1/00 that he managed not to tick tock when he went forward to receive the award.
A small hello should go to Amy Clark as she has now left us but hopes to return soon. Hope you are doing well and we'll see you at Open Day.
